Sameer Al-Shweiki, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained retina specialist at Retina Vitreous Associates, serving patients in Toledo. He is a highly skilled ophthalmologist specializing in the treatment of macular edema, macular degeneration, retinal detachment, and diabetic retinopathy.

Born and raised in Jordan, Dr. Al-Shweiki graduated with honors from The University of Jordan and completed his internship in General Surgery at Johns Hopkins University Hospital, known for its prestigious training programs. He then pursued an Ophthalmology residency at Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar and further honed his expertise with additional residency training at New York Medical College.

Dr. Al-Shweiki’s dedication to advancing his skills led him to complete a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at Valley Retina Institute, where he stayed on for an additional year. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, reflecting his commitment to providing high-quality eye care.
