Getting to Know Dr. El Rashedy

Dr. El Rashedy, MD, PhD is a Retina Specialist who specializes in various retinal disorders. She offers care for diabetic retinopathy, macular edema, age related macular degeneration, and retinal vascular diseases. She has special interest in treating different types of uveitis, macular diseases and inherited retinal disorders.

Dr. El Rashedy earned her medical degree graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Cairo in Egypt. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Cairo in Egypt. Dr. El Rashedy then went on to complete a Uveitis and ocular immunology research fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye Research and Surgical Institute, followed by a glaucoma fellowship at Case Western Reserve and finally a medical retina fellowship at the University of Kentucky.

Dr. El Rashedy’s extensive training in ophthalmological subspecialties has made her well-qualified to treat and manage especially complex conditions. She has had her research published in a number of peer-reviewed journals, has authored a number of book chapters. Dr. El Rashedy has made multiple presentations at scientific seminars and meetings.

When not working Dr. El Rashedy enjoys spending time playing with her two boys, walking and discovering new places
